The activities of the CUG of the University of Genoa are carried out in coordination and dialogue with the Equal Opportunities Committee (CPO), with the aim of ensuring workplace well-being and equal opportunities for the University’s staff.
The CUG’s duties include ensuring compliance, oversight, support, and protection, as well as monitoring and analysing organizational factors that may hinder workplace well-being and equal opportunities.
Pursuant to Directive No. 2/2019 of the Ministry for Public Administration, “Measures to promote equal opportunities and strengthen the role of Single Guarantee Committees in public administrations”, the CUG performs advisory, consultative and monitoring functions within the framework of the competences assigned under Article 57, paragraph 3, of Legislative Decree No. 165/2001.
In particular, CUG:
Promotes:
- a culture of equal opportunities;
- respect for personal dignity in the workplace;
- actions aimed at fostering the full inclusion of workers with disabilities in the workplace.
Oversees:
- compliance with the principle of non-discrimination;
- the prevention of behaviours that may harm personal dignity, including workplace harassment (mobbing) and sexual harassment within the University.
Carries out preliminary assessments and submits findings, together with related proposals, to the competent bodies when reports are made by employees concerning discriminatory, harassing or dignity-offending conduct.
Encourages initiatives aimed at promoting work–life balance policies.
Collaborates with the CPO in drafting the Positive Action Plan (PAP), proposing measures to foster well-being at work, in study environments and in professional development.
Provides opinions on:
- organisational restructuring projects;
- training plans;
- working hours;
- flexible working arrangements;
- work–life balance measures;
- staff evaluation criteria;
- the performance plan.
The CUG submits, by 30 March each year, a report on the progress of the Positive Action Plan to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department of Public Administration and Department for Equal Opportunities.
